In my July Guest Posts feature, I introduce you one of my talented friends, Karise (@nailsbykarise on Instagram) who also writes on Nice Things To List. Her post is definitely one that I am super keen to try out. Here’s her post- Triangle Stripes Nail Art. I hope you guys enjoy this post, so sit back and enjoy!
Hello all! I’m sure there are some of you out there who are new to nail art and I would love to share with you this easy design that you can do, but yet still has a sophisticated look. All you really need is some patience and the materials listed below. Of course, the colors are up to you to change and experiment with.
You Will Need
- Base Coat
- Metallic Green Polish
- Black Polish
- Top Coat
- Striping tape (if you do not have one, cut thin strips of adhesive tape)
- Adhesive tape
- Tweezers (optional)
Now, shall we get started?
First off, let me start by saying that timing is really important. If your polish has not dried completely before you move onto your next step, your manicure is ruined. With much practice, I have found my golden timing – 15 minutes, for my polish to dry. With that said, let’s continue with the pictorial!
Start off with a base coat and then apply a base colour of your choice (two coats recommended) and let it dry for 15 minutes.
Apply a thin layer of top coat and wait 15 minutes again.
Next, cut out triangular shapes using your adhesive tape and place it down the middle of your nail. Then, paste three striping tape evenly across your nail.
Apply the second colour over the tapes and making sure that you have covered the entire nail. I recommend you to choose a darker color than your base color (here I used black polish).
Immediately after applying the second colour, remove the striping tapes.
Next, remove the triangular tape carefully. Wait 15 minutes again for your manicure to dry completely.
Finish off your nail art with a fast drying top coat. And it’s done, simple!
If words and pictorials are not your thing, watch the tutorial in motion below! I made a YouTube video with the same instructions but in more detail- such as how to cut the triangular tapes.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and give this nail art design a go!
