Today I introduce you some polishes from Deborah Lippmann Spring Reveries Collection.
Deborah Lippmann herself, is a celebrity manicurist and has worked with world-renowned fashion houses. I have never gotten any of her polishes before because they’re much more high-end and come along with a higher price tag. Thus, I was super excited to try her polishes.
When the polishes first arrived at my home, I was so enchanted by the colours. We were given 4 bottles to try, namely La Vie En Rose, Build Me Up Buttercup, Blue Orchid and Flowers in Her Hair. All the colours were pastel, so I was concerned about application the most!

Keline has written a post on the a simple nail art we did using the polishes, and some water decals I have (and am considering to sell on my blog!).
I’ll discuss my experience with each of the polishes here. Generally, all the polishes had fantastic consistency if you ask me. Application was smooth with all the polishes. My worry was uncalled for!
La Vie En Rose is a sheer pink shimmer shade. This takes at least 4 coats to reach full opacity, so you must have the patience to coat it over and over again. I love the shimmer in this one, because it’s very subtle and only visible at certain angles.
Build Me Up Buttercup is a soft, buttery yellow creme shade. Opaque in two coats. I don’t know whether it is due to the name of Buttercup (Powerpuff girls) but I am reminded so much of my favourite childhood cartoon show :)
Flowers In Her Hair is a mint pastel creme. It is opaque in 1-2 coats. It is slightly less pigmented than Blue Orchid, but it really looks beautiful too.
Blue Orchid is a baby blue creme. I think this is my favourite out of the 4. It is almost opaque in 1 coat, but I used two coats to cover some bald spots. The colour is rich and creamy, absolutely stunning!

The brushes were sleek, something like China Glaze, but much more soft. I really like the brush as it gives me more flexibility in painting.
By the way, Lupita Nyong’o, who won Best Supporting Actress at the Academy awards, wore La Vie En Rose which complimented her blue Prada gown so perfectly!
The nails I did for my sister the first time was a simple dotticure, but we did some new ones with decals over at her blog! Here’s showing you another look you can create with the same polishes. Also, Deborah Lippmann Polishes are 5-free and are not tested on animals. They are enriched with biotin and green tea extract. My sister had the polishes on for some time and they only started chipping 1 week later, which is incredible! Normal polishes start chipping off within a few days.
I really enjoyed using the polishes! You can purchase Deborah Lippmann on Luxola, at Takashimaya and Sephora Outlets.
