If there’s one thing I’ll be eyeing every single Christmas, it would be the Ciate Advent Calendars! This year, my awesome boyfriend got me the Ciate Mini Manor which was a total surprise! He brought this huge plastic bag out on Christmas, and told me to guess what it was, but it seemed too heavy and I thought it would be a set of headphones..? Somehow I had this feeling that it would be polishes though. I knew it was a safe choice.. As much as I expected polishes, when I opened it I was in shock! HOW COULD IT BE?! He kind of lied to me and made me feel like he bought something else, so he must have enjoyed seeing the shock on my face!
Last year I also received the Ciate Advent Calendar from my friends which I blogged about. Let’s see how this year’s compares to last year’s?
At first glance..
When you open up the box, there are small perforated boxes with mini Ciate polishes encased in each.
For the advent Calendar, you are supposed to open each every day before Christmas, but since my birthday is on 26th, I usually receive the calendars on Christmas itself or after Christmas. That means, opening all the polishes at ONE GO!
This year’s Advent Calendar is a little different. It features a full-sized bottle, named Celestial. This is a special polish that is only available if you purchase the Advent Calendar! Beautiful glitter polish with glitter flakes, love!!
Ciate Let It Snow, Silver Holographic Loose Glitter
Each Ciate Mini Manor comes with 15 mini sized paint pots, 8 special effect (5 Fine Holographic Loose Glitter, 1 Diamond-Shaped Loose Glitter, 1 Pearl, 1 Nail Transfer), and 1 Full Sized Bottle (mentioned previously).
Ciate PRLM001 Girl With a Pearl
Here is the Pearls pot! This is perfect for embellishment.
Here we have all the special effect bottles, ranging from amazing holo glitters to fancy diamond shaped glitters, yes! I love glitter, so I absolutely love how they have popped in more glitter this time. The previous time, they focused on the caviar beads for the special effect bottles and hardly had any glitter!
Blue – GLIM008 Frozen Daydream
Pink – GLIM005 Prima Ballerina
Red – GLIM009 Runway Ribbon
(L-R) SEQM006 Tinsel Trail, PRLM001 Girl with A Pearl, GLIM007 Slumber Party
You can see the shift in the colours of the holographic glitter when it is tilted at such an angle.
PPM173 Sloaney, Sweetie, PPM404 Candy Cane
These two bottles are the only 2 glitter polishes in the collection, which is just a right amount as we do have an overload of loose glitters. I am in love with Candy Cane, sorry Sloaney Sweetie! Not much a fan of bar glitters to be honest. I love the depth in Candy Cane. I think it will look absolutely stunning layered over a dark polish.
PPM184 Mineral Clarity, PPM085 Sand Dune, PPM051 Velvet Tuxedo
Here are the 2 dark shades and a gold shade from the collection. Beautifully matched don’t you think? It looks like a King with 2 guards! The shift in Velvet Tuxedo (you can see in the bottle) is just incredible. Can’t wait to try it out!
PPM036 Silhouette, PPM013 Sherbet Fizz, PPM052 Sharp Tailoring, PPM032 Unrestricted Glam
Silhouette, Sherbet Fizz and Sharp Tailoring all have shimmer flecks in it, while Unrestricted Glam is a simple black polish. UG caught my eye although it’s just a normal black polish because I just love black polishes! Let’s see how good this compares to A-England’s Camelot.
The glossiest blackest black. Wear it however and wherever you like, just make sure it is often.- Ciate
PPM007 Members Only, PPM079 Strawberry Milkshake, PPM133 Amazing Gracie
The soft shades from Ciate Mini Manor. Other than being a fan of strawberry milk and shakes for that matter, I just can’t wait to try Strawberry Milkshake!! It looks so adorable. I can see it being a favourite among many. Amazing Gracie is a very sheer pink, although it looks like white in the picture above.
PPM065 Big Yellow Taxi, PPM020 Cupcake Dream, PPM057 Headliner
And the final calls for bright shades meant just right for summer, aka every day in Singapore. I finally have a proper yellow polish because my China Glaze one is too old and sticky to be used (every again!!). I have tried Cupcake Dream and Headliner, and I must say Headliner looks pretty amazing! Cupcake Dream is a really bright pink, and has a subtle shimmer to it.
I have not tried all the polishes out since I do not have time on my hands, but I absolutely frickin’ love this Ciate Mini Manor for 2014 compared to 2013. I find that the colours are far more outstanding and of course, the glitter pots are much more useful than the caviar ones.
This also reminds me of my ciate mini pots from last year which have been neglected and are sitting in my Helmer for too long!
You can purchase the Advent Calendar from all Sephora outlets at about SGD$59 or so.
What is the one polish that has caught your eye so far? If you have the calendar, which is your favourite?
